Hi, my name’s Chris Reed and I’m a professional online session drummer. From my studio, I remotely record great sounding custom drum tracks for bands, artists and producers all over the world. No project is too small and I’ve drummed for a huge variety of people, playing many styles. From bedroom musicians, to Nickelodeon video games, to recording for bands where the tracks have been produced by Curtis Mathewson (who has worked with Foo Fighters, Train, Motorhead, NOFX), mastered by Jack Endino (whose credits include Nirvana, Soundgarden) and mixed by Jeffro (who mixes OKeefe Music Foundation). I’d love to work with you!

The Remote Drum Recording Process
The recording process is really easy and just four simple steps!
1) Get in touch
Get in touch and let me know what your requirements are. This can simply be “I need drums / what can you do / HELP!”, or you can provide me with a full breakdown of the specific parts required, e.g. “I want the drums to sound like that band / that drummer / that record / it needs to sound vintage / huge etc”. Also let me know when you need to receive the final drum tracks. The more information you can provide, the closer we can be to getting exactly what you want in the first take!
2) You transfer the music
I’ll get back in touch to discuss the details and you can transfer your music to me. This could be a guide demo track or final version of your song, such as an MP3 or WAV.
3) I remotely record your custom drum track
I record the parts based on your requirements, then send you an MP3 version of my drum track mixed with your song. You can then let me know if any tweaks are required. I will record until you are happy, but as we’ve discussed what you need from the start, it’s rare that more than one amendment is needed, if any are needed at all.
4) We’re finished!
When you’re happy with the drums, I transfer you the files. Depending on your requirements, this could be a stereo mixed drum track, all the individual drum stems, or perhaps even percussion tracks and videos. The job’s done and we both smile!

What I Send You When The Custom Drum Track Has Been Recorded
As an online session drummer I can offer different options based on your needs. The choice is completely yours, and can be a combination of the following:
- A stereo drum track in a single WAV file
- The individual raw drum stems for each microphone. Depending on the needs of your project, I can provide 10 or more drum stems and an example of these are as follows:
Snare Top, Snare Bottom, Bass Drum Inside, Bass Drum Outside, Tom 1, Tom 2, Tom 3, Hi Hat, Overheads, Room Mics - A percussion track which can include things such as shakers, djembe, tambourines, claps, slapping a door with a chain (whatever’s percussive and sounds good!)
- A video of me remotely recording your custom drum track from one or two angles
- Midi maps, should you need electronic drum tracks instead of acoustic drums
- A mix of your song with the drum track

When recording drum tracks online, I want to make sure you get what YOU need. I can offer a range of different services and therefore let you choose everything you want and nothing you don’t. As an online session drummer I understand that each song is unique, so I can price the drum recording based on your requirements. In addition, I can also offer a discount for recording multiple drum tracks.
